Finally Cowl

 About a year ago, while playing around on Ravelry, I discovered a baby cardigan designed by Asa Tricosa.  Because I liked that pattern, I continued on and looked at her other patterns.  This brought me to the Finally Cowl.

 

A sample was knit for the shoppe and here it is.  We used a US 9 needle,  four skeins of Lamb's Pride bulky in Prairie Fire and one skein of Lamb's Pride worsted in Sunburst Gold.  It is knitted in the round, from the bottom up and we made the large size.

It is an easy knit and cosy.

Mr. Greenjeans

Okay, this did it. On September 16, Diane posted a picture of her Mr. Greenjeans.

For those of you who are not familiar with this sweater, go to Knitty.com I have loved this pattern ever since it came out two years ago and now I am going to knit it.


Now, this is with the understanding that I am at a work site six days a week and then on my day off, I do other things that can't wait. So, if I can put in 5 hours a week on this sweater, it may be done later in the winter and just in time to add something new to my wardrobe.

So, the question is -what yarn do I use for this wonderful sweater? I was looking at Ravelry and some folks have used Cotton Fleece. That would be good for this terminally hot person, plus I can wash and dry it in the machine. But, I also like Lamb's Pride and they have some beautiful reds. Or, we carry Shaefer Yarn and I could order some Miss Priss in a colorway that I like. Annie looks nice, so does Catherine the Great, or what about Frida Kahlo? And I like Billie Holliday, but I think I want to stick with a red colorway. It is bright and cheery.

Only three and a half weeks

It is that time of year to pull out the pumpkins.



Susan made up a felted pattern for pumpkins and the wonderful thing about them, is that you can use them for Halloween and Thanksgiving and then knit them up in other colors for Christmas, Valentine's Day, Easter....You get the picture.

Two skeins of Lamb's Pride worsted makes three pumpkins.

Still loving those hats

Have to admit, even with spring peeking around the corner (come on folks, spring is not here until May), we still wear and knit our hats.




Here is a cute one that Alicia made. And yup, it is made out of one of my favorite yarns, Lamb's Pride.

Hats on to You

Yesterday we turned over 36 hats to our wonderful plow drivers here in Leelanau County.

Tags were added that gave washing instructions (to prevent felting).

Channel 4 TV came out and recorded a nice segment for us.



Brown Sheep donated the Lamb's Pride and the Double Ewe Yarn Shop in MN graciously allowed us to use their pattern.



The last hat was dropped off today, so now we have 37.

Lois' Felted Scarf

See the scarf Lois is wearing? She is my yarn representative for Brown Sheep. She brought in this wonderful scarf that she knitted and felted. She is knitting a new one. And here is the pattern.

Lois’s Felted Scarf

57” x 5” finished

US 10 ½

Lamb's Pride Worsted

CO 170 with 2 strands of yarn. (Make slip knot with about about 6" tail for both yarns)

Knit each row with one strand in garter stitch for about 8” – 9” wide.

Felt.

Use Color grabber by Shout - will keep colors bright. Felt about 6 minutes and separate fringe. Felt another 5 minutes and then pull fringe again. Rinse, but no agitate. Put on Spin cycle.
